St. Nicholas of Tolentine School

"A Place Where Students Flourish and Talents Flow"

At St. Nicholas our rigorous curriculum provides students with a solid academic foundation that prepares them for future success.   Our students benefit from a collaborative teaching and learning environment and smaller class sizes than local public schools.

Our certified, loving, teachers are some of the best around.   They are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that your child succeeds.   What does your child need- tutoring before or after school?   One-on-One assistance with particular topic?  Before or after school activities?   Your name it our teachers are ready and willing to help.

The excellent academics program at St. Nicholas builds a foundation that will prepare your child for high school.   Students from St. Nicholas have the opportunity to attend some of the best Catholic ad selective enrollment high schools in Chicago.  Our students usually attend:  Brother Rice, St. Rita of Cascia, Mother McAuley Liberal Arts, Queen of Peace, St. Ignatius, and Hubbard ad Cristo Rey.    Oftentimes our graduates receive scholarships to these great schools.

Music education is an essential part of our curriculum.   St. Nicholas of Tolentine students have the opportunity to develop poise, self-confidence, and sense of teamwork through participation in many musical groups.  Students as young as first grade are able to play a musical instrument and participate in the school choir.  We love to share our gift of music with your child.

Academic success is important to us, but even more important is our faith.  Every day we are shaping our students into loving, faith filed young adults.  At St. Nicholas of Tolentine faith is integrated in all that we do.

Our faculty and staff serve as religious role models and our faith based educational environment builds character and instills values that last a lifetime.   Every school day begins with a prayer and students are constantly reminded of God’s presence and love.   Religion classes are taught daily with an emphasis on morals and character building.  Catholic traditions and holidays are recognized and celebrated.  Sacraments are a key element of our students’ faith journey and sacramental preparations are completed in the classroom as part of the curriculum.

Our faith extends beyond the classroom and is present in service programs, volunteer opportunities, and retreats.   Students learn that they are part of a large community and realize the important of helping those in need.  Our faith is alive and palpable when the community comes together in times of joy and in times of crisis.
