E-Learning 2020

Welcome to St. Nick School Remote Learning Program (SNSRLP) student on computer

Remote learning is an educational program designed to help St. Nick students continue their learning because circumstances have prevented the students and teachers from being in the same physical space for instruction and activities.

The goals for St Nick School Remote Learning Plan are the following:

 1. To care for the St. Nick students and their families in seeking to understand each students’ unique learning situations and to provide Social and Emotional supports during this time.
2. To continue to bring Christ to the students through daily religious instruction.
3. To deliver instruction and activities which help all students continue their learning and reaching grade level standards and benchmarks.
4. To minimize the loss of instruction for the St. Nicholas of Tolentine School.
5. To continue the home and school relationship and build a solid connection between the students, parents, teachers, and administration in fulfilling the mission of St. Nick School.

In order to achieve these goals, the students will have

  • 4 days a week of Remote Learning Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • An Assessment Check-in (ACI) on Thursday
  • Fridays designated as “Finish Up” Fridays, which are days to complete and submit to their teachers any unfinished weekly assignments for feedback
  • Friday as an opportunity for students to meet for 1:1 or small group tutoring with individual teachers.  All teachers will have office hours every Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., or by appointment

We recognize that the home was not intended to be a classroom for 6-7 hours a day.  As such, here are the recommended minutes for instructional and school activities by grade level.  Parents know their child the best and these minutes are recommendations and guidelines.  Minutes can be adjusted to meet your students’ and family needs upon communication with classroom teachers and principal.
