Inclusive Services at St. Nick's
Every Child Is Known. Every Child Is Supported.
At St. Nicholas of Tolentine School, we believe all students deserve the opportunity to succeed. For over 20 years, we have been leading the way in Catholic inclusive education, providing services that support diverse learning needs while honoring each child’s strengths, dignity, and potential.
How We
Support Our
Students
At St. Nicholas of Tolentine, we celebrate the unique strengths of every student and embrace a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) to meet diverse learning needs. Unlike many Catholic schools, St. Nick’s is committed to inclusive education, ensuring students receive the support they need without sacrificing faith formation, academic rigor, or a strong sense of community.

Individualized Learning Support
Our MTSS Team, led by Director of Inclusive Education Lauren Ward Sebastian, partners closely with families to ensure every child receives the most supportive education possible. Support plans are developed collaboratively and may include classroom accommodations, academic interventions, and ongoing progress monitoring, while maintaining faith formation and academic rigor.

Professional Support Team
Students benefit from access to a dedicated team of professionals, including 5 counselors, 6 aides, 5 learning specialists, speech therapists, and ABA therapists, who work alongside teachers and families to support whole-child growth.
Services may include:
-
Learning and academic support
-
Speech and language services
-
ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapy
-
Counseling and diagnostic assessments

Collaborative Approach
Teachers, specialists, and families work together to implement interventions, track progress, and ensure consistent support. Regular communication keeps everyone aligned on goals and ensures strong outcomes for each student.

Inclusive Classroom Environment
Support is provided within the classroom to promote confidence, independence, and belonging. Students remain fully engaged in the St. Nick’s community while receiving the guidance they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
