Principal’s Welcome

My name is Dr. Mariagnes Menden. I have served in Catholic education for over 30 years, and I am humbled to have been part of the St. Nicholas of Tolentine School community since 2005. It is the mission of St. Nicholas of Tolentine School to Engage, Inspire, and Empower the Whole Child to reach their Greatest Potential by providing a quality Catholic education. This is rooted in five beliefs grounded in God’s love and that all things flow from Him.

In the spirit of 'All are Welcome' and with a growth mindset, students' needs are addressed daily in the classroom and beyond through the five domains of Whole-Child Education: Spiritual, Emotional, Cognitive, Social, and Physical. Students experience rich and rigorous classroom experiences daily and are engaged through lessons and activities that elevate their voices, develop strong thinking and discussion skills, and empower them to become lifelong learners. St. Nicholas of Tolentine School strives to be a beacon of Light illuminating the learning journey of all learners who choose to enter its doors. This journey begins with the child and extends to the family. When we enroll a student, we also enroll a family. We value a strong partnership between home and school.

St. Nicholas of Tolentine School has thrived for over 115 years. The school’s enrollment is steady and growing, with over 400 students, and has maintained a focus on small class sizes to meet the needs of All learners. We are proud to share that St. Nicholas of Tolentine School received a Well-Organized rating on the 5-Essentials Survey. For the 2024-25 school year, the iReady results were exceptional with 145% growth in Reading and 112% in Math.

The Best Outcome of all is that Students are Happy to come to school every day and run into the building for a new learning experience. Thank you to current St. Nick families and alums for your presence and support of Saint Nicholas of Tolentine School.

For prospective families and students who would like to be part of our St. Nick Family, please visit the school for a tour. We welcome you and would love an opportunity to share the St. Nicholas of Tolentine School experience.

Sincerely,

Mariagnes Menden, Ed.D.
